ISI provided mechanical engineering for a new light rail maintenance facility and the expansion of an existing maintenance facility and Bus and Rail Control Dispatch areas. The HVAC systems designed included radiant heating, exhaust, and office areas. The most challenging area was the control room HVAC expansion because it has multiple cooling systems and is staffed around the clock.

The control room and support area systems include the primary HVAC systems and a backup for each room. To reduce additional equipment, operation interruptions and project costs, ISI design included a transferable backup HVAC system for bus and rail systems. A low power consumption economizer-cooling mode was provided to facilitate the use of the existing emergency generator during a commercial power loss. In addition, the inert gas suppression system for the areas established included new control devices that need activation during fire.
