Toyo Tanso USA Designed custom high temperature, 1000 degrees Centigrade, process cooling system for a vacuum purification vessel to decrease product cycle time and increase productivity. The final design consisted of two heat exchangers, one air-cooled and one cooled with chilled water. Project challenges included material selection, thermal shock concerns, control scheme development, compatibility with customer equipment and processes, and the ability to maintain a high vacuum, low leakage environment. The cycle time was reduced 35% compared to the existing operations. |
