ISI has extensive experience in electrical engineering and design services including control and instrumentation. Our design capabilities include:

Power Transmission Lines:

• Wood/steel/concrete pole design, H-Frame/Lattice structures design, NESC/ASCE structure loading analysis, and permitting.

Power Distribution:

• Design of overhead and underground systems, and selection of distribution system components.

• Utility and user facility coordination, system protection, short circuit and load studies, and lightning protection.

Power System Control and Instrumentation:

• Protective relaying, control, and instrumentation systems.

Instrumentation and Process Control:

• Programmable logic controllers for process and HVAC systems.

Communication Systems:

• Microwave path and mobile radio coverage studies, point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, mobile radio, power line carrier, audio communications, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and telemetering.

A thorough knowledge of codes (NEC, NESC, NFPA) and IEEE design practices is evident in our work. Additionally, ISI has worked extensively with the major electrical contractors in the greater Portland area and build relationships that promote understanding and quality.
