ISI, in association with PacifiCorp, conducted energy an analysis evaluation of the modulation of ventilation air to the potato cold storage facility, configuration of the fans, and optimization of the refrigeration systems. One of the improvements was the installation of variable frequency drives on the fans and the utilization of irrigation water as condensing media in the refrigeration system. Payback for these measures ranged from one to five years before utility incentives and tax credits.
