Energy Analysis

Intel
Hillsboro and Aloha, OR.

In association with Portland General Electric, ISI participated in numerous energy audits to identify viable energy efficiency measures to be study and to work with clients to developed comprehensive analysis for each efficiency measure. Two types of analysis were performed. On their new buildings and those undergoing major building remodeling, energy analysis utilizing DOE2 was performed. Most of this type of analysis was performed for their new building, such as the Jones Farm 2 and Jones Farm 3 office buildings. Some of the measures included lighting, HVAC equipment, insulation, and windows.

Many processes were analyzed, including automatic tube cleaning of water chillers, lower condenser water temperature controls, make-up air heat recovery system, and recovering evaporative cooling from cooling towers. Most of the payback for these measures ranged from 1 to 6 years before incentives and tax credits. Intel received over $500,000 per year from utility incentives and tax credits during a 3-year-period.
