3D Design

Qwest
Portland, OR.

ISI utilized 3D design methods in the design of HVAC systems, facilitating the layout of equipment in very tight areas. It also allowed us to optimize ductwork size and maintenance space.ISI applied 3D on two Qwest projects.

  • The Portland project consisted of the installation of a high capacity air handler in a very confined area. 3D allowed us to maximize space utilization to provide the cooling capacity to the area served while realizing all clearances necessary for installation and maintenance of equipment.

  • The Keizer project included the design of a penthouse housing two air-handling units servicing a 16,500 square foot building. A limited space for the penthouse was provided to perform this task. ISI developed a 3D design for laying out the equipment and ductwork that provided adequate space for maintenance and equipment part replacement.
